Nicholas' Journal  February 2007

February 27, 2007 Tuesday - (Day +813) Outpatient - (Day 771)

Nicholas sure likes it that it is almost Spring. He wants to stay outside and ride his bike even though it was snowing a little bit. It does not seem to bother him. He is doing really great on his bike and scooter this year and I think that we will take off the training wheels this summer. He has grown so much since last summer that he has almost outgrown his bike and will need a new one, but we have time for him to master this one first. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas and his health.

February 26, 2007 Monday - (Day +812) Outpatient - (Day 770)

Nicholas got here early this morning. He had his skate board and scooter and wanted to ride. He spent the weekend with brother Mitchell and had a blast. He is a little tired today so it will be an early night for us tonight. Please pray for our little scooting Nicholas.

February 23, 2007 Friday - (Day +809) Outpatient - (Day 767)

Nicholas got a good night rest. He went to bed at 8:30am last nioght and guess what??? I fell asleep also. Oh, well... He got up this morning at almost 7:00am on the go. He rode his bike down the hall and talked to his mom on the phone. He will be heading to Moms for the weekend and his brother Mitchell is also going to be there. Nicholas is so excited to see Mitchell. He will have a lot of fun this weekend. Please pray for Nicholas and his health and to take it easy on Mitchell over the weekend.

February 22, 2007 Thursday - (Day +808) Outpatient - (Day 766)

Today was a kind of cold and rainy day. Nicholas went to feed the ducks and ride his bike. This afternoon while we were riding and rolling down the hills it started to snow. Nick did not want to go in and he was catching the snow on his tongue. After a while it was snowing so much that we had to go in. Nick took another warm shower and changed his clothes, then ready to go again. He really loves the outdoors and now that it is warming up he will be able to spend most of his time outside. Please pray for Nicholas and his growing taller body.

February 21, 2007 Wednesday - (Day +807) Outpatient - (Day 765)

I went to get Nicholas today and he could not wait to go to Kmart for a new motorcycle. When we got here he decided to ride his bike first and to stay outside. The weather is getting warmer now and he really loves it outside. He rode his bike and rolled down the grassy hills around here. He had so much fun and did not want to go in. He is still the king of showers and took one tonight and will probably take another in the am. Please keep praying for Nicholas and his health.

February 20, 2007 Tuesday - (Day +806) Outpatient - (Day 764)

WHITE BLOOD CELLS = 9,000
RED BLOOD HEMATOCRIT = 45,000
PLATELET = 475,000
IGG = 548

Nicholas had a check up today in Spokane WA. We got there and the doctors could only get 26cc of blood before his vein shut off. He so good even tho he hates getting poked with the needle. The Doctor came in the room and said his numbers are magnificent. We were so happy and we do not have to go back for 6 weeks. All of the restrictions have been lifted on Nick. We asked if he could go swimming in a public pool, in the river, have a cat, be around plants and flowers, etc... and the Doctor said that was all fine. He grew even more and gained more weight. He is doing so good it is amazing. We have to get him to the doctor for his yearly Neuro-Psych appointment, and start his Immunization shots. He is going to see a kidney specialist this Spring to look at the iron levels in his kidneys. He still has high blood pressure but it is a lot lower now than before. In 6 weeks the doctor will increase his medicine to bring his pressures down to a normal level for his age. All in all he is really doing great. Please pray for Nicholas and his magnificent health

February 18, 2007 Sunday - (Day +804) Outpatient - (Day 762)

We went to bed at 8:00pm and Nicholas woke up at 7:00am. He slept very good and long. He needed the rest after a day of running and playing. We are up and just playing around for this morning and Mom is going to pick him up around lunch. He just talks up a storm and says the funniest things. I thought he was resting this morning and then he popped up his head and said "go to KMart please." He is so funny. Please pray for our little Nicholas and that he continues to say the funny things.

February 17, 2007 Saturday - (Day +803) Outpatient - (Day 761)

It was a beautiful day today and we spent it outside and went to the park. The temps are warming up 60 deg and spring is on the way. It is so nice to spend our time outside, Nick loves it. We went to both of the parks so he could get on both of the slides and swings. He was very tired today and we will hit the sheets early. Please pray for Nicholas and his health.

February 16, 2007 Friday - (Day +802) Outpatient - (Day 760)

Nicholas' mom bought him some new motorcycle gear. He loves to wear it around the house. He is a motorcycle fanatic, scary... He is doing much better and his blood pressure is steady now around the normal range 120 over 80. His tic is almost gone and he does not do it very much, really only when he is tired and a few hours after his blood pressure meds. He loves to take his shower and does it all by himself. Please pray for our little and growing Nicholas.

February 12, 2007 Monday - (Day +798) Outpatient - (Day 756)

One if Nicholas' favorite songs and characters is the monkeys and here he is hailing the banana. He is so funny. His color has been good and high energy. We have been very busy and had fun the last couple days. Please pray for our little Nicholas and his health.

February 11, 2007 Sunday - (Day +797) Outpatient - (Day 755)

Nicholas' First Shower!!!!!

Nicholas has been wanting to take a shower and not a bath. So, this is his first shower all by himself and he loved it. Now he wants to take a shower all day and he keeps asking if he can. He has always loved the water and when he showers he does not want to get out. He is so funny, what a big boy. They grow up so fast. Please pray that our little Nicholas and family stays healthy.

February 10, 2007 Saturday - (Day +796) Outpatient - (Day 754)

Nicholas woke up at 5:30am this morning and wanted to play family Fued. Those cuddle days are beginning to be over the older he gets. He is in this motorcycle box playing. He has always liked to crawl into boxes since he was a baby. I have many pictures of him like this since he could crawl. The weather is nice and we are going out to play. His blood pressure seems to be pretty stable around the normal range. He still has that tick, but not as bad as it was. I guess it was not the medicine that caused this like we thought. Please pray for Nicholas and his health.

February 9, 2007 Friday - (Day +795) Outpatient - (Day 753)

Little man came to my house today and wanted to get right to playing Tony Hawk on the 360. He really likes to play it and does pretty good. His DVD player broke again so we took it back and got a new one. Also, we bought a Family Fued DVD game. He had a lot going on yesterday and had a very full day. Please pray for our little Nicholas and his health.

February 6, 2007 Tuesday - (Day +792) Outpatient - (Day 750)

Nicholas woke up this morning as chipper as ever. He had soooo much energy and I cannot believe that he was sick yesterday. His blood pressure meds are working, the pressure has been at normal for the last day now. He is going with his mom today and will be back on Friday.  We went and bought him a new pair of shoes and socks for his feet. I will miss him, but we will talk to each other. Please pray for our little and growing Nicholas.

February 5, 2007 Monday - (Day +791) Outpatient - (Day 749)

Nicholas is not feeling well.

Nicholas woke up this morning and had his normal energy. He danced a little to the Wiggles and wanted to play the 360. Did not think anything until he threw up his breakfast. After that he acted very tired and did not want to eat. He tried to feel better playing on the computer and riding his bike, then at 11:00am he decided to watch the Young and Restless in my room and told me he wanted to take a nap. He is snoring right now and does not have a fever, but we have put in a call to the Dr. in Spokane and we are waiting for them to return the call. Mom is on her way to my house now. Please pray for Nicholas and his health and that this passes. I will try to update later.

Update:

Nicholas took a 2 hour nap and woke up like nothing happened. His mom went back home and we stayed and played for the rest of the day.

February 4, 2007 Sunday - (Day +790) Outpatient - (Day 748)

A new yellow balloon!!!!!

The new Dodge dealer had their grand opening this weekend and had 2 of Nicholas' favorite balloons, a red one and a yellow one. He is just so excited and wants to go and watch them all day. We will go tomorrow and see if they are still there. Please pray for Nicholas and his health.

February 2, 2007 Friday - (Day +788) Outpatient - (Day 746)

Here he is talking on the phone to his mom. We are getting ready to eat lunch and head up river this afternoon. We had a great day. He has soooo much energy and is learning all of the time. He says the funniest stuff, and I do not know where he gets it. Please continue to pray for Nicholas' health.

February 1, 2007 Thursday - (Day +787) Outpatient - (Day 745)

Nicholas was very funny all day and had lots of energy. It snowed here off and on all day so we just basically stayed in and played around here. His twich is still going on, but there does not seem like there is any pattern as to when he does it, but he feels great and is very active. He loves his Tony Hawk 360 game and we play it all of the time. What a joy. Please pray for Nicholas and his health.
