Nicholas' Journal  March 2006

March 31, 2006 Friday - (Day +483) Outpatient - (Day 440)

He is a wild man for sure!!! Did you say he had a cold??? Nothing slows him down. We had a very busy and energetic day today. He had a cough and running nose in between the laps around the house. The bee sting went away and shows no sign of even being stung. I guess his immune system has had to kick into high gear this last few days and it is doing great. Hopefully he will kick his runny nose and cough very soon. Other than that he feels great and wants to go out and play. Please continue to  pray for our little guy.

March 30, 2006 Thursday - (Day +482) Outpatient - (Day 439)

Nicholas has had a pretty rough day today. He woke up this morning with a very raspy cough. He feels good and it has not slowed him down. We took him to see his local pediatrician and he called Salt Lake City and was assured by them that his immune system is strong enough to fight off anything that will come his way. So, right now he is sick, on his own, and off all meds for 10 days now...eeeeekkkkk!!!! To add to this he came home and later this afternoon he went out on the deck and got stung by a yellow jacket. We took care of it and watched. His body did not react and he still is a wild man and full of energy. So today his immune system had to kick into full gear and is doing great. It is fighting off his cough, and took care of the bee sting. WOW!!! Please pray that he continues to do well, and his immune system continues to get stronger.

March 27, 2006 Monday - (Day +479) Outpatient - (Day 436)

Nicholas came over today for a few hours while his mom ran some errands. He knows that my favorite DVD is Space Dancing and we dance to "what's this button for" all of the time. He put it on this afternoon and danced to our favorite song. WE ran and played for a couple hours then met mom and brother at the high school then they went home. He is such a trooper and was very happy to see Mitchell. Please continue to pray for our little trooper.

March 26, 2006 Sunday - (Day +478) Outpatient - (Day 435)

Our little trooper with the horns on his head woke up at 5:30 and decided to play. I received a body slam and a "daddy lets watch the big TV." He played very hard all day, so I called to tuck him a little early tonight, and he was ready for bed- a little earlier than usual. He was on the go non stop for 13.5 hours. Woooo Hoooo!! He is so awesome. Please continue to pray for our little wrestler.

March 25, 2006 Saturday - (Day +477) Outpatient - (Day 434)

Nicholas played very hard today. He loves to wrestle and run up and down the hall while I chase him, put him on the bed, and tickle him. He is just so much fun, and I really missed him while I was in Las Vegas. He is only on basically 1 medicine a day and he will always be on this because he has no spleen or gaul bladder. Every day he learn more and more, he is just amazing. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas.

March 24, 2006 Friday - (Day +476) Outpatient - (Day 433)

I am glad to be home from the few days in Las Vegas. I missed Nicholas so much and wished that he could be there with me. Nicholas liked his presents that I brought home from my trip. We had fun today doing our usual playing, tickling, and laughing. Nicholas is off all meds now except for the 2 that he will always be on due to the lost of his spleen and gaul bladder. His body is completely on his own now and needs to just get stronger and start his immunizations in June. He is doing great, and trying to get caught up very fast. He is carrying on conversations with us, letting us know what he wants, dressing himself and eating very good. What a trooper. Please continue to pray for our Nicholas and his recovery.

March 17, 2006 Friday - (Day +469) Outpatient - (Day 426)

Happy Saint Patricks Day!!!

Nicholas has been a ham all day. We went to McDonalds to get his happy meal and the toy was the glasses. He likes to wear them. We read the paper together, cruzed, and ran up and down the hall all day. He got a new DVD from our neighbor tonight and he is so excited. He has been asking for Bob The Builder - Build it and they will come. I did not think that there was one named that and he was just repeating what he herd from the commercials, but guess what Ashley found one today for him. He is so excited and is already watching it. He is so funny. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas.

March 16, 2006 Thursday - (Day +468) Outpatient - (Day 425)

Nicholas was kicking back watching tv and relaxing after his bath and is winding down getting ready to go to bed. He is here to visit me before I leave to Las Vegas for a couple days. We had fun this afternoon, saw the red balloon, and had pizza Thursday's at Papa Murphy's Pizza. I am going to miss him while I am gone. Please continue to pray for our little guy. He is doing great.

March 14, 2006 Tuesday - (Day +466) Outpatient - (Day 423)

Nicholas and Dad spent the early morning together before we went for a drive back to Moms house. He woke up very early and wanted to play basketball. He is very much a outdoor kid, and now that the CEP is gone he can go out in the sun and play. This is a basketball that was given to him by the Spokane basketball team when Nicholas was only about 1 year old and was at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane Washington. He loves this basketball. Anyway, he is doing great and please continue to pray for him.

March 13, 2006 Monday - (Day +465) Outpatient - (Day 422)

Nicholas came over this morning for breakfast after he dropped brother off at school. He will stay until tomorrow and play with dad until the end of the week. The weather is warming up here and we have a hard time keeping Nicholas inside. He is very much an outdoor kid and now that winter is almost over he will be very happy that he can spend so much time outside. He goes out to ride his bike, then inside to play Ronald McDonald. What a great life. Please continue to pray for Nicholas' health.

March 10, 2006 Friday - (Day +462) Outpatient - (Day 419)

Nicholas woke up this morning on the go as he always does. We played until his mom came down to pick him up. He likes to play on the computer and now that he has the new Ronald McDonald computer game he just has a ball. He is just so cute and full of energy. Please continue to pray for his continued great health.

March 09, 2006 Thursday - (Day +461) Outpatient - (Day 418)

At 6:00am this morning I felt Nicholas rolling around in the bed. When he was still I looked at him and I had these big blue eyes looking at me. He threw his arm around me and gave me a hug and said "cartoons preese" Got to love that. We enjoyed coffee together, and then played all day. He got a new Ronald McDonald CD and he loves it. Phew, what a busy day. Please pray that Nicholas stays healthy while brother Mitchell is getting better.

March 08, 2006 Wednesday - (Day +460) Outpatient - (Day 417)

Nicholas is still doing great with no signs of the ecky bug!! He has been on my computer off and on all day. When he is not on my computer we are chasing, and playing from one room to the other. He is so awesome and feeling so good. He will be off his meds now for almost 90 days and moving forward. Please continue to pray for Nicholas and his health.

March 07, 2006 Tuesday - (Day +459) Outpatient - (Day 416)

Here we go!!!

Nicholas has not been over with me for 5 days because I caught bug that has been going around our area, I do not know how, but I did so Nicholas has been with Mom. Brother Mitchell woke up at Moms house this morning with a fever so I sterilized my house and off I was running to get Nicholas and bring him down here to my house, now that I am well. We are doing everything that we can to isolate Nicholas from this bug, it is a doosy and lets hope that he does not get it. Other than that Nicholas is doing great and is full of it as you can see. It is so wonderful to be with him again, I really missed him. Please continue to pray for Nicholas and his health and that he does not get that ecky bug.

March 01, 2006 Wednesday - (Day +453) Outpatient - (Day 410)

Today was a beautiful day and Nicholas could not wait until he could go outside and ride his bike. He got a new bike for his birthday, but he still loves his old one that is too small. He is so funny. He rode until he had to come in and take a bath. Mom was going to come over and they were going to get "brother Mitchell" then off home to run wild. He is walking even better today and I think that his leg will heal in another few days. Please continue to pray for Nicholas. We love you!!
