WHITE BLOOD CELLS = 30,600 very high
RED BLOOD HEMATOCRIT = 40,300
PLATELET = 487,000

Nicholas ended up in ER last Night.

Nicholas acted through the day like he was feeling a little under the weather. He was very tired when I called him at 7:00pm which is not like him. Mom called me at 8:30pm and told me he had a 99.7 fever and on its way up, so off to ER we go here is Lewiston. The Tylenol cut the fever, but his ears and throat were red. His white cells are very elevated but the rest of his counts are high, but normal for him. He had cultures done, blood drawn and an x-ray and his chest is clear and received a 24 hour shot of antibiotics  and a prescription of Agmenton. We are waiting for the cultures to come back, but no strep throat as of yet. He woke up this morning hungry, talking, and singing. He feels much better. A couple of days of rest and he should be off and running. Please pray for Nicholas and whatever he has goes away.

Here he is ready to go. Keys in hand, water in the other. Nicholas is going with Mommy today and she came to pick him up with new shoes, sandles, and 2 new releases of DVD's. He is so happy to get presents. He slept very good last night after a long day of playing, and riding his bike. He likes to go fast on his bike and does not like to use the brake so we are working on that. Please keep praying for Nicholas and his continued great health.

Our Ice Cream Man!!!

Nicholas has found a new love - chocolate chip ice cream on a sugar cone, LOL, LOL. He is so cute eating his ice cream. He asked today and even said "please" in the cutest voice, so how can you say no to that. He ate most of it, wore a little, then he was tired of it. It is a pretty nice day here today, so outside we go to ride his bike. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas.

April 24, 2006 Monday - (Day +507) Outpatient - (Day 464)

Here he is, our little motocross man!! He spend some time again outside riding his bike and spinning the wheel. It was a little colder today so I was able to get him in a couple of times. He is doing so great riding his bike that he just gets on and goes fast, fast, fast.... scary!! He knows where the brake is but does not like to use it. He is so funny. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas.

April 23, 2006 Sunday - (Day +506) Outpatient - (Day 463)

A New Bike - Its so awesome!!! (he still says)

Nicholas woke up this morning wanting to go out to ride his bike right off the bat. We had breakfast and out we went. He looked like he had been riding for a long time. We went round and round the parking lot all day. He loves to ride and go very fast. I cannot believe that he can pedal so fast in such a short time (1 day). He had a blast and was very tired by the end of the day. We are off to bed early tonight so keep up the prayers for Nicholas.

April 22, 2006 Saturday - (Day +505) Outpatient - (Day 462)

A New Bike - Its so awesome!!! (he says)

Nicholas has been chasing me around on his trike that is very much too small for him so I decided to get him a new bike. He ran into his room and sat right on it like he knew what he was doing. He has been sitting on it non-stop. He ate his lunch and dinner on it. It did not take long for him to figure out how to pedal, and stop (although he likes to go fast) so I have to stay very close to him. He rode it today until dinner and even then he was not ready to come in. He did so well that I do not think that the training wheels will be on long. Please continue to pray for Nicholas and his energy.

April 19, 2006 Wednesday - (Day +502) Outpatient - (Day 459)

Nicholas is growing like a weed. Here he is sporting his new Sponge Bob jammies. He really loves them. I thought that he would never give up his Blues Clues jammies, but now Sponge Bob won out. He is doing great and full of energy ready to go outside and play. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas.

April 18, 2006 Tuesday - (Day +501) Outpatient - (Day 458)

Spring is here and the weather is great. Nicholas always loved it outside, but when his CEP got worse his skin blistered in the sun and we had to keep him inside away from the sun. That was 2 years ago and now with the bone marrow transplant being over he can play outside again. There is no keeping Nicholas indoors. We fight just to get him in to eat. This is so awesome. I am glad that he loves the outdoors living in beautiful country known for its beautiful outdoors he will be happy. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas and his continued recovery.

Nicholas is enjoying his time this afternoon. He went to his grandmas house and had Easter dinner. He is so lucky, he gets dinner and Easter at dads, moms, and grandmas house. He had a lot of fun and tried some new foods. He received some presents and was very spoiled by the whole family. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas.

April 14, 2006 Friday - (Day +497) Outpatient - (Day 454)

 Isn't He just soooo cute!!!!!

Taking a bath and posing for the camera. He had a lot of fun today riding his trike and running all around. He went with his Mom and Brother for the weekend and they will also do Easter there. How lucky, 2 Easters in one weekend. He is growing all of the time and is right now getting taller. The weather seems to break every couple days so he can go outside and play. We cannot wait for summer to get here so we are not stuck in the house during the rain. Please pray for the continued great health of our little Nicholas. Happy Easter.

April 13, 2006 Thursday - (Day +496) Outpatient - (Day 453)

Here is little man coloring eggs for Easter and making a big mess, but having a lot of fun. He loves to color the eggs. We had a little scare with his body temperature last night and kept us on the edge. He did not get a fever, but I think that he was trying and kicked it himself by 11:00pm last night and then his temp was normal again. He slept for 11 hours and woke up his sweet little self. Please continue to pray for our little Nicholas and his health.

Happy Easter.

April 9, 2006 Sunday - (Day +492) Outpatient - (Day 449)

We had a beautiful day here. It seemed like it was almost 70 deg. and Nicholas took full advantage of it. He was outside most of the time on his bike, and his Aunt Jennifer let him play on his cousins slide. He had a blast wearing his father out. He loves it outside and I am glad the weather is breaking so he can spend his time outdoors. Nicholas still has a little cough but getting better everyday. His immune system is working and he is getting healthier everyday. Please pray for his health. We love you Nicholas.

April 8, 2006 Saturday - (Day +491) Outpatient - (Day 448)

What a kid!!! Been dancing all morning. Nicholas went to bed at 8:40pm and was asleep in less than 5 minutes. He did not wake up until 9:00am this morning in fast gear. It was so cute I woke up to a little voice in the middle of the night and it said, "Starbucks white chocolate mocha with whip" That would be Nicholas. It was so cute to hear him talk in his sleep. He feels wonderful today and has 10 times the energy. His cough is better, but his sinuses are still stuffy. Overall he is doing great. Please continue to pray for his wonderful recovery.

April 7, 2006 Friday - (Day +490) Outpatient - (Day 447)

Here is our little man grinning, and I think that I see his devil horns coming, lol....He has a lot of energy and you would not know that he was sick until he coughs, then it is very apparent. He is doing great and I am trying to keep him as calm as I can so he does not cough, but the wild man loves to play. He is such a little helper and wants to do everything , and I mean everything by self. He is so funny, and so independent. Please continue to pray for Nicholas and his health.

April 6, 2006 Thursday - (Day +489) Outpatient - (Day 446)

Nicholas woke up this morning at 6:00am ready to go. He came right out of the bedroom and wanted to play on the computer. He has been a kick all day. He went back to his Moms tonight and we rocked out all the way there to Nickleback, his new favorite band. He really gets into it and dances in his chair all the way. He is feeling much better but still has the cough going on. Please continue to pray for our little nicholas and his growing immune system.

April 5, 2006 Wednesday - (Day +488) Outpatient - (Day 445)

Nicholas is feeling good now, and is a wild man. He still has a cough and a runny nose but it is slowing down. He went to the doctor for a check up with the same doctor that worked with the ER doctor at 1:30 am in the morning on Sunday and he said that that there was still a little fluid behind his one ear, but he is getting better. We just kicked back today not wanting to rile him up very much so he can heel,  but he does not want to slow down. It has been raining here so he has to stay inside also. His new immune system is working overtime right now, but it is doing great. Please continue to pray for Nicholas.

April 2, 2006 Sunday - (Day +485) Outpatient - (Day 442)

WHITE BLOOD CELLS = 15,800
RED BLOOD HEMATOCRIT = 40,900
PLATELET = 447,000

In ER until 4am this morning!!!

Well, little man went to his moms and Doug's yesterday after there little mini vacation, and guess what- the fever hit at 11:00pm. Mary Ann called me and we were off and running to ER at the hospital here in Lewiston. They took a bunch of tests and found that he has a little pneumonia in his lower right lung, and ear infection in right ear, and a 101 fever. His blood tests came back good so he received 2 shots, 1 in each leg for his sickness and is going off amoxicillin and being put on a super amoxicillin for 10 days. What a trooper. We all came to my house at 4:00am to get some rest. I will update on how the rest of the day goes later. Please pray that he get over this stuff soon.

April 1, 2006 Saturday - (Day +484) Outpatient - (Day 441)

Did you say "April Fools Day"

Maybe he is just tricking us that he has a cough?? Only kidding. He is wound tight. Nicholas woke up this morning and threw his arms around me and said "I wuv you so much daddy" he was barely awake and was so cute. These moments need to be cherished because when they get older they try to convince us that they never said those things, lol... but us parents know better.

Nicholas woke up at 5:30am this morning on the go. What a life, my coffee in Starbucks mug, and water in M&M mug. He is so cute. Well, we are going to make breakfast and start our day. Please continue to pray for our little guy.
